To quantify the gap, we compared the recommended retail price of 14 popular designer fragrances against our own vegan, UK-made Eau de Parfum alternatives (100ml). Here is what the data shows.

Why the gap is so large
Designer and niche fragrance prices reflect brand marketing, packaging, retail margins and prestige positioning as much as the liquid itself. Designer-inspired alternatives recreate the scent profile as an Eau de Parfum while stripping out those premiums, which is why a like-for-like scent experience can cost 70 to 93% less.

Savings are illustrative and compare each designer RRP to the Leclair & Moreau 100ml Eau de Parfum (£26.95; YSL Libre alternative £39.95).
